Main bio
I’m Saptarshi Debnath, a product designer and mobile developer from IIT Bombay IDC. I design thoughtful digital products across healthcare, education, finance, and everyday services where clarity matters and the details have real consequences.
My practice moves between research, interaction design, design systems, and prototyping. I’ve worked with small teams and growing organisations to turn complex workflows into calm, usable experiences from radiology tools and academic platforms to booking systems and music products. I’m especially interested in how future kitchen systems can help households build healthier routines.
I’m pursuing my B.Des at IIT Bombay IDC while working across product design, interaction design, design systems, and mobile development. Moving between Figma, research, Flutter, and Swift helps me carry ideas from early questions to working products.

Research before resolution
I begin by understanding behaviour and context. Projects like NotebookLM and Time4table used ergonomic evaluations, school research, usability testing, and prototyping to reveal the right problem before committing to a solution.

Systems that survive complexity
I enjoy turning dense workflows into clear systems. At BRND Studio, I worked on a 150+ component design system spanning three workflows; for the IIT Bombay faculty recruitment portal, I helped simplify a high-stakes institutional experience.
Design and build together
Because I design and develop, I can collaborate closely with engineers and test ideas in their real medium. My mobile work in Swift and Flutter covers recording, editing, booking, scheduling, status tracking, and role-based access.

Timeline
Design Hive Studio
Founded a student-led design studio and delivered 10+ projects across SaaS and brand work. Built a 14-person team spanning IITs and NIDs, leading projects from discovery and UX through identity and delivery.

MIT MEDIA LABS
Spearheaded rapid UI iteration by delivering high-fidelity mockups and interaction flows for seamless engineering handoff for CoCo platform
JAN 2026 – MAR 2026
WIOX AI
Converted user and business requirements into product flows and interfaces for an AI solution presented to the Tata CLiQ Fashion team; Conceptualised and worked on an interdisciplinary software solution in radiologic imaging
Jul 2026 – Aug 2026
IIT Bombay Recruitment Portal
Redesigned the faculty recruitment portal with TCS as an interaction design intern. Presented the work to six stakeholders and helped secure board approval for the proposed experience.
